What a busy few months it has been here at the Farm Shop, we were closed until after Christmas and the New year, we had a big clean up around the place and we are now into Spring and the evenings are getting a cock step longer…
We have a few different breeds of sheep on the farm but they are starting to lamb, we had two Jacob lambs born about 5 weeks ago and doing well.
Every one is very happy and new pens were made in our large shed where you can visit the animals all in there and free of charge.
We have a new addition to the farm animals – Truffles is our new pot belly pig and arrived here just before Christmas… She was living with a wonderful family in Clondalkin Co. Dublin and walks on a lead and is house trained. Yes, Truffles is a house pig, but we are so glad that Mary and Lottie the two other Pot Bellies have totally accepted Truffles into there pen and they are all so happy and if you are quiet you can catch them sleeping top to tail hidden in the straw…
Our children Hannah, Harry and Archie are all a big help around the place even though they are all still young. The two boys are happy to show people around and tell you amusing stories about the place or the animals. Hannah is our oldest child and is great at helping in the shop or bring shopping out to customer’s cars…
There has been work done to the farm shop, this season we added a vintage section in the shop with great vintage wear available. The brick-a-brack section is a great hit too, our customers love to have a rummage in this section and get a bargain for themselves. This section is constantly being re-stocked with fun goodies. Keep an eye on it for cool new-to-you items.
Rebecca is a trained florist and is now doing more flowers with in the Farm shop and we now have a flower section with beautiful fresh and dried flower arrangements which are available every day at the shop. Herbs and a small selection of plants and in season bulbs can be also found. It’s the ideal spot to pick up a little something for your loved one, the hostess for a dinner party or perhaps just a fresh bunch of flowers to cheer yourself up.
