We had a wonderful summer with lots of activities and animals being born, it was a busy few months on the Farm!
We are now all set for Christmas. This year we had Mrs. Claus and Trixie and their friends here and we are delighted to say Santa came to the Farm too! Yes Mrs. Claus is brought him to see all the wonderful children here at Tinahely Farm. We so enjoyed seeing him.
During September we said goodbye to one of our Dorset Horn sheep, as you may know Rebecca’s grandfather was the first man to import them into Ireland in 1933, we had two Ewes from his flock, and one morning Philip was out working and discovered she was gone to sheep land. We hope to get a few more Dorsets here in 2017.
The vintage room is now very much part of the new extended Restaurant. We re-decorated it during the summer and are now selling vintage clothes, shoes, handbags and lots more. Come take a peek!
In the Restaurant we have really expanded our menu and there is wonderful feedback from all who have dined with us. We have a great selection of vegetarian food, and now we do a “Special” every day, anything from Bangers & Mash to Seafood vol au vents – and children are especially well catered for.
In the Farm Shop we have a delightful range of Tinahely Farm handmade Hampers, which make the perfect gift for every occasion. They offer a taste of the very best of local and national produce, are attractively wrapped and can purchased at our Farm Shop – or by telephone by calling Philip on 087-8168457. Come and take a look the next time you visit us. We can gift wrap our Hampers and arrange delivery for you too!
Basket Making & Chicken Wire sculptor classes have now finished for 2016 but the dates are under our Events page of 2017. We also have Psychic Bernie Healy coming to the shop in February, all details again are under the Events page on the web site.
We have a wonderful selection of crafts, prints antiques and something for everyone if you are looking for a Christmas present for someone special.
Everyone is wondering about the wonderful bright pink caravan parked outside the shop, well we are taking bookings for afternoon tea parties for up to 6 people! We be taking these bookings from the New Year onwards.
If you have time drop in and see us – and enjoy a lovely warm bowl of soup to brighten up even the coldest Winter’s day.
We will write again soon and let you know what’s happening down on the Farm and in the Shop. In the meantime we wish all our friends and customers a wonderful, Happy Christmas, and the very best for 2017. We pride ourselves on having something for everyone at Tinahely Farm and have loved meeting and serving you all this past 12 months. We look forward to new adventures, amazing new products and renewed acquaintances in the year ahead.
With very best wishes from Philip & Rebecca and our family and staff.
Please note that we will be closed for our annual holidays from 2pm Xmas Eve and re-open on Tuesday 17th January at 9.30 am.
