We are bursting with news and thank Darina Allen who has arranged a trip back to The Farm to officially launch Tinahely Farm Shop, she will be here at 1.30pm on Friday December 14th. We will be sampling our food products which we sell in the shop on the day so please come along for a taste too.

What an exciting month November has been, lots happening at the Farm shop.

During the month of November we were nominated for the Best Newcomer in Good Food Ireland, so off  Philip and myself headed to the Shelbourne Hotel for the awards night and what an amazing experience that was… We didn’t win the award but to be nominated and only two months with Good Food Ireland was great for us, we are only in business 19 months now so not bad for novices.

The shop is now stocking a fabulous new range of traditional toys and games for children, and the response we are getting from you, the customers, is unreal… We have games like Top & Tail cards, Pick Up Sticks, Dominoes,  Ludo, Snakes & Ladders, felting kits for kids and adults!!! and lots more exciting things to get your creative side going…

Hampers are in big demand this year and are full of Farm Shop produce and Irish artisan goodies, and isn’t it great to receive a gift that you can use…

We are now taking orders for our Tinahely Veg Box for Christmas week, and also fruit boxes so if you are interested in a box please pop into the Farm Shop with your order.

Pot Belly PigOur sheep shed is looking very festive and the Llamas are really wondering what is hanging above their pens… Come for a look, it’s free to see the animals but during the winter months they are in the sheds and we have just put up a donation box to help feed the stock. We also have a food dispenser for feeding them which is also in the shed.

All the animals are in for the Winter and very snug in their pen and our walk out through the farm in now closed and will re-open next April when the animals head back out to their paddocks.

Mrs. ClausWell, what can I say about Mrs Claus, Santa was great to give her the day off and she decided to visit the Farm Shop, and she is here in the sheep shed on Saturday December 15th at 2 pm and 3.30 pm telling stories about Santa and she will make reindeer food with the kids and they will also receive a gift from Mrs. Claus, the cost is €5.00 for children and the adults are free, you will have to call Philip to book in on 087 816 8457. We will have tea, coffee and hot chocolate for sale in the shed that day…

In the New Year we will have Irene Lundgaard back teaching crochet (pre-booking is essential and directly with Irene), which is very much part of the shop now, and we look forward to when the Ladies pop in for their class.

Also, in the New Year we are hoping to do an arts class for Children here on The Farm, we have been doing puppet making but we are going to be doing art in general as well as the puppet making, we are now taking names for this class but times etc have to be finalised, so keep an eye on the events page on our web site.

Thanks again to Darina Allen for launching the Tinahely Farm Shop on Friday December 14th at 1.30pm. We look forward to seeing you all for the launch!

The Farm Shop will close on December 23rd at 6 pm for the festive period, we will re-open in the New Year on January 8th so we look forward to seeing you all in the New Year, thank you  calling into the Farm shop and buying our produce and supporting us over the last nineteen months.

We hope that you have an enjoyable and peaceful Christmas.

Philip, Rebecca, Hannah, Harry and Archie
